Do you provide daily or weekly housekeeping services?
We provide one complimentary housekeeping for every week of accommodation. However, as this is a self-catering unit, the apartment is not serviced daily, but we are happy to offer housekeeping services at R200 per session. Kindly contact us to schedule before your arrival.
Is internet available in the apartments?
Internet service is optional and can be arranged through IN THE CITY. The cost is R30 per day for the rental of the USB modem device. A number of data packaged can then be purchased on-line using a credit card. IN THE CITY requires a minimum of 7 days notice prior to arrival should you require this service.

What are check-in and check-out times?
Please note that there is no reception desk at your apartment building and you are not staying in a hotel. It is important that you provide is with your arrival details in the Booking confirmation and that you contact us BEFORE YOU ARRIVE in order for us to meet you, hand over keys and check you in.
Check-in time is 14h30 (2:30pm) on the day of arrival. Check out time is 10h00. IN THE CITY will make every attempt to accommodate you should you require a different arrival and/or departure time then those outlined above. For an early morning arrival, we advise you book for the night before as well, as your apartment may only be ready for occupation at 14h30 on the day of arrival.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept credit card (American Express, Visa, Diners Club and Mastercard).
We accept Electronic Transfers (EFTs).
We accept international wire transfers.
Our banking details are provided in your Booking Confirmation.
What are your payment conditions to secure a booking?
We require 50% of the rental within 48 hours of the signing date of yor Booking Confirmation. Proof of the rental deposit payment must be faxed to + 27 21 465 8253 as soon a possible. The Booking will not be confirmed until the deposit has been received.
The balance of payment will be paid to IN THE CITY no later than two (2) weeks prior to the first day of the reservation date via credit card, bank transfer or wire transfer.
On arrival IN THE CITY will make a credit card imprint upon check-in for as a security deposit to the value of 20% of the rental. Any additional deductions such as extra housekeeping services requested, breakages, missing items, additional housekeeping staff required to clean the apartment upon departure due to excessive wear and tear, etc. will be deducted off this amount. IN THE CITY will not be held responsible for any exchange rate fluctuations over the rental period and the Rand amount secured will be returned to you.
Is smoking allowed in the apartments?
Smoking in the apartment is strictly prohibited and any smoking must be done outside the premises. In the case where there is a balcony or patio, smoking is allowed outside; however, the door must be closed not allowing any smoke to enter the premises. Should there be evidence of smoking inside the apartment; a charge of R1,000 will be deducted from the security deposit for additional cleaning/refreshing of the apartment.
Do you provide toiletries, towels and linen?
IN THE CITY supplies our apartments with a starter pack of necessities (e.g. toilet paper, bath soap, shampoo, and basic cleaning supplies). As these are self-catering accommodations, you can supplement these items and purchase them from a number of nearby grocery stores.
Please note that the Charlotte Rhys toiletries are complimentary apart from the actual hand soap pump dispenser; however, if you would like to take the hand soap dispense with you, please feel free to do so. A cost of R30 for each 200ml dispenser and R80 for each 300ml dispenser taken will be charged to you account.
Each apartment has two sets of linen and towels and can be washed inside the property, since each unit will have a washing machine and tumble dryer, or a washer/dryer combination as a minimum.
What is your cancellation policy?
The following fees for cancellation or amendments to a reservation will apply and will be calculated from the total cost of the confirmed booking:
45+ days notice: 0%
44 to 30 days notice: 25%
29-15 days notice: 50%
14 to 0 days notice: 100%

For your convenience, our office hours are as follows:
Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm
